Franchise Presentation: Narrowing Down Your Top Picks (Step 4 of 18)

Franchise Presentation: Narrowing Down Your Top Picks (Step 4 of 18)

June 06, 20252 min read

This is an exciting step! You have spent a considerable amount of time learning about franchising, thinking about what you want your life to look like, and what a great fit would be for you. Now the broker has done a lot of working researching franchises and matching you to 6-8 concepts that you could succeed in. These franchises will be presented to you in a way where you will understand the business model, why you’re a good fit, and why the franchise system has strong support and training.

By the end of the call you will select your top 3 franchises so the broker can introduce you to them. That means if your wife or business partner needs to be part of the decision, they need to be on the call. Now is not the time to get analysis paralysis, the in-depth information will come from the franchisor and the FDD. You just need to know what you are looking for in a franchise and select the ones that fit your ideal closest.

After the call, the broker will send your profile over to the franchise and they will reach out to set up a call with their Director of Franchise Development. They may have an assistant email you or it may be the director. They may schedule the call right away or they may ask you fill out a franchise specific application. Either way, your research journey has begun in earnest.

Between the presentation and Stage 5, Initial Call with Franchisors, you should research each brand in more depth. Watch their YouTube videos, listen to podcasts where the CEO or Director of Franchise Development is a guest, read the Info Sheets the broker sends to you, and Google/ask AI about the franchise. This way you go into the first call prepared to ask great questions and you will leave a great first impression with the franchisor.

These articles are simple overviews of the franchise research process to know what to mentally prepare for as you begin the journey. If you want a guide that will give you the right questions to ask, at the right time, to the right person, you need to work with a Tracer Franchising broker.
